Shipping & Returns

As of Tuesday, May 19th, 2020, in accordance with the framework for reopening Ontario, Shooters Direct will again be offering local pickup by appointment. We expect this to last well into the summer. We are constantly assessing our ability to ship orders with the Canpar and Canada Post. Currently we are still able to ship orders unaffected.

Certain details are required when purchasing controlled items from our website such as: firearms or ammunition. These details can include your Firearms Licence Number, Date of Birth, City of Birth and current Club Name to which you belong. You will be asked to provide these during checkout to avoid delays in processing your order. If such details were not entered, our team will contact you to complete the order. If after several attempts contact cannot be made or you are unable to provide these details, your order will be refunded.
Purchases requiring additional information during checkout:
Non-Restricted Firearm or Ammunition: Firearms Licence Number and Date of Birth
Restricted Firearm: Firearms Licence Number, Date of Birth, City of Birth and Club Name
All orders excluding restricted firearms can be shipped out by the next business day. If ordered early enough we can even have them shipped out the same business day!
Orders that include a restricted firearm need additional processing time for the Canadian Firearms Centre to transfer the registration of the firearm to the buyer. Depending on the province in which you reside, this can range from 1 business day to 1 week. When a restricted firearm is purchased, we will do our best to initiate the transfer as soon as possible; in most cases within a few hours. Similarly, when the transfer is complete we will do our best to get it shipped the same day.
All orders containing a firearm or ammunition will be shipped requiring a signature on delivery. Ammunition cannot be shipped using Canada Post as per their regulations. Ammunition will be shipped via Canpar, UPS, FedEx or similar.
Make sure to inspect your package for obvious shipping damage before accepting it. If it is clearly damaged, you should refuse the package and we will promptly send you a replacement order while dealing with the initial damaged one.
Orders that are $200 and above (before taxes and shipping) are entitled to FREE Canada wide shipping*
*Some exclusions of very remote locations in our large country do apply (i.e. Yukon, NWT, Nunavut). We will do our best to carry some of the cost!
Canceling an Order
If you wish to cancel an order it can be done if the order HAS NOT SHIPPED. If you wish to cancel please call us at (905) 847-2555
IMPORTANT: Please do not ship something back without informing us first! If we do not know what it is, we might mistakenly refuse it.
Damaged or Defective Item(s)
In the event that an item you receive is damaged or defective please give us a call at (905) 847-2555 or fill out our Contact Us page. Please include the order number and explanation of what is wrong with the item. We will contact you on the proper procedure for returning the item, please do not just ship it back without contacting us!
We offer a two week return policy under qualifying conditions that guarantees you a full refund when the item is sent back and received by us. You MUST contact us first by email, phone or the Contact Us page informing us that you would like to return any item.
Any firearm you wish to return must be unfired.
Any item you wish to return, including firearms, must be in as good a condition as they were received.
Any packaging that you have opened must be in reasonable condition without unnecessary damage and destruction.
You will receive instructions on how to ship the item back to us. Upon receipt of the item we will issue the refund to you. Please allow up to 7 business days for the refund to appear on your credit card statement.
